The Perspective Directive
I’ve got two things for you to do this month, particularly in the moments when things don’t appear to be going right or seem like a drudge.
Firstly, ask yourself how you’re choosing to look at the situation. We all look at the world through the lens of our values and experiences. So try a different pair of specs on and look again. Asking yourself “what would I rather have and how else could I choose to experience this situation?” will help you do this.
Secondly, get a bit of perspective. How important will this thing be tomorrow, next week, next month, in 10 years? Try to mentally step back and look at the situation from a distance – you might get some interesting insights.
When you’ve got 5 minutes to spare, have a look at this video from Carl Segan (click here to watch). If this doesn’t put things into perspective, I’m not sure what will!!
Have a fabulous month and remember: Happiness is a way of travel, not a destination.
Supporting your success.
